Research Profile
The major research interest of Dr. Barra's laboratory is the role of immune responses to post-translationally modified proteins in Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) and its associated complications, in particular vascular disease. The research is translational involving mouse models of RA and atherosclerosis, biomaker studies as well as epidemiologic studies with participation in various cohort studies.
